The largest distributor and logistics operator in Tatarstan, Smile Group of Companies (LLC Firm Smile, LLC S-Logistic, etc.) and DK-Expert successfully completed the first stage of the warehouse logistics automation project. Automated processing of Sun InBev business in a leased PLC warehouse complex (Kazan).

Smile Group has been operating on the market since 1993, is the official distributor of Procter & Gamble (since 1993), Nestle (since 2000), Gillette (since 2006), Sun InBev (since 2006), Nestle Purina ( since 2007), Upeco (since 2008). Smile provides 3PL services for OJSC Lebedyansky and M-Video. The territory of the company's activity covers the republics of Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Mari El, Chuvashia, Udmurtia and the Kirov region, has a branch network in the cities of Kazan, Kirov, Ufa, Naberezhnye Chelny, Izhevsk, Bugulma, Cheboksary, Sterlitamak, Neftekamsk.

As part of the project, in February 2009, the automation of warehouse processing of the business of Sun InBev and OJSC Lebedyansky was completed on the basis of the warehouse management system Infor WM (EXceed).

In the course of the project, an analysis and optimization of the technology for conducting commodity accounting and warehouse processing was carried out, and a task was formed to finalize the information system. The reorganization of business processes had a positive effect already at the stage of preparation for implementation, by reducing labor intensity and increasing the transparency of accounting operations.

To process different businesses (Sun InBev - distribution, Lebedyansky - 3PL), integration was organized simultaneously with two corporate information systems: MS Dynamics Nav and 1C.

Taking into account the specifics of each business, a mechanism has been developed for automatically assigning warehouse processing strategies to new assortment positions. Automation of this process simplifies the introduction of new product cards as much as possible and allows you to work with a frequently updated assortment.

Infor WM manages the entire cycle of preparing an order for shipment: picking, picking (packaging), placement in a temporary storage area, moving to the shipment gate, loading into a truck, shipment. For all Clients of the company, individual rules were set up for selecting goods for shipment by expiration date, picking method and types of pallets, which made it possible to eliminate the "human factor" and assign control over execution to WMS, while maintaining a flexible approach to the requirements of Clients. Depending on the type of Customer and the type of business, the Infor WM system uses different schemes for preparing orders for shipment. Schemes with individual (one order = one order), grouped (one order = many orders, with separation of selections by orders) and consolidated (one order = many orders, with consolidated selection for each position) selections are used.

For timely detection of problems, a system has been set up to automatically send messages to the e-mail addresses of service personnel (and SMS messages), which is especially important at the launch stage and when making subsequent changes to business processes.

During the next stage of the project, the processing of Procter & Gamble, Nestle, Purina businesses will be automated at the new warehouse complex, to which Smile Group of Companies is moving in the near future.

The project was completed in February 2009.
